The Santa Luzia Apartment in Funchal was a great choice for my stay. The apartment was very clean and cozy, and I especially loved the sea view from the balcony. The bed and sofa were comfortable, and the apartment had everything I needed, from towels to kitchen essentials. The location was convenient, with a bus stop just around the corner and the option to walk to the old town. The host, José, was incredibly helpful and even offered to take me to the airport at 5am for a reasonable price. I had a fantastic experience at Santa Luzia and would highly recommend it.

Large bedrooms.
Stunning and good location, around 10-15 minutes walk from Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption. An iron, coffee/tea making machines, and a flat-screen TV with cable channels; big size rooms. Warm welcome from host.

The owner, Mr. Pereira, warmly welcomed us at midnight and provided a thorough explanation of the apartment. The apartment itself was comfortable, fully equipped, and impeccably clean. We were delighted to find a bottle of wine and Madeiran sugar cane cookies as a welcome gift. The parking space in the basement was a lifesaver in a city with limited parking options. I highly recommend this apartment for its excellent amenities, thoughtful touches, and attentive owner.
Although the apartment was lovely, we did encounter a few mosquitoes as it is located near a river steam. It would have been helpful if the apartment provided a mosquito net or repellent.

The host José made our stay wonderful! He was so welcoming and made us feel at home from the very beginning. The apartment was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed and more. The bed and pillows were excellent, we had a great night's sleep. The location was perfect, outside of the tourist areas but still close to the city center. We had easy access to food stores and cafes nearby. A big advantage was the closed parking, which was so convenient for us.
That the building had no heating, and we were quite cold in the morning and evening. However, there was a small heater in the apartment which helped a lot.

the bed and sofa were both comfortable, and the apartment had everything I needed, including plenty of towels, soap, shower gel, and even sugar in the kitchen. There was also a washing machine and a selection of pillows and blankets. the location was convenient, with the option to walk to the old town or take a bus from the nearby bus stop. The apartment was on a hill, as is typical in Madeira, but this was not an issue for me. Cons: Nothing I didn't like to be fair 😊.

Great place to explore the city! Free private parking, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. Close to main roads, bus stops, and walking distance to the old town.
The key to the apartment was difficult to use at times and the bed was quite firm. Some road noise and the slamming of the main entrance door could be bothersome.

I felt like a queen with my own parking space, garden views, and free WiFi. The apartment had everything I needed and the bed was more comfortable than my yacht.
Trying to use the key was like a challenging puzzle, but who needs easy access anyway?
